Plagiarism among international students is very common mistake which is often committed. This is due to different educational system between many countries. The most plagiarism happens when students are asked to write essays or papers.

We believe the possible solution to this topic is to prevent international students from the plagiarism. The reason we suggest the prevention as the solution is to make students aware that there is a serious implication if someone found to steal somebody’s idea or somebody’s work. In the U.S., somebody’s work is protected by the law of copyright. And a lot of international students who just came to attend the university in U.S. do not aware of this copyright law. Also, they do not know well about the regulations and strict standards when they write essays and thesis for their academic purpose.
First, students have to know the difference between the regulation in writing thesis paper in previous university in their home country and U.S. by giving them the rules and regulations.
Second, giving them the habits to write their own thoughts by giving them daily journals, which is not necessarily related to academic writing. By having journal, the students will be used to generate some ideas when they are asked to voice their own thoughts.

In conclusion, we have to make students to acknowledge their source of writing when they are citing the source. So, students do not make mistakes or accuse to steal somebody’s idea or work.. By doing this, we can encourage them to have their own thoughts in their paper.
